Not Forget Password! One Password for All Platforms: KeePass
If you are struggling with too many accounts and too many passwords like me, then it is time to meet KeePass! Let’s take you as follows;
Keepass is open source software that runs on every platform and is completely free. It stores the passwords in files with the extension .kdbx.
Now let’s come on how to use it;
- Download the Keepass application for your operating system here.
- After downloading and completing the installation, we follow the steps of File -> New .. to create a database where the data will be stored. While performing this process, it will ask us to create a “Master Password”. This is very important because if you forget this password, you can say goodbye to your saved passwords forever…
3. You can now save your passwords, account names and secret notes. You can safely save all your passwords.
“Fine, but how do we sync passwords to other devices?” I seem to hear what you say. We will use the Google Sync tool for this.
4. Download the Google Sync tool to your computer. Open sync and drag the file with the .kdbx extension you created into your google drive file.
5. Download the keepass app from your iOS / Android store to your phone and select your file in Google Drive as the database upon opening.
That is all!
